First things first; today I got a clean bill of health! Over the holidays I got hit very hard with pneumonia. It came on really quick and when it did Ricky took me to the vet. (Sarah was back in Maryland visiting family and friends.) I had a tube connected to me all day that really made me feel better, even though it made me really have to pee. I didn't know if I was going to make it through this terrible condition. I didn't eat much at all and Ricky forced something down my throat a few times a day and stayed home from work to keep a close eye on me. I slowly felt better after about 2 weeks and then started feeling better and better everyday. I lost about 10 pounds but Sarah made sure to keep the treats coming and I am almost back to normal!
This is Dr. Keeten, he is who helped me get better. I was still a little sedated in this photo from the follow up x-ray. A guy in my condition should be careful about jumping in the truck to go home. I kept trying but I just couldn't make the jump, but I wanted to get the heck out of that place!
My uncle Luke came to visit; I was so glad to see him! He and Sarah stayed really busy while Ricky was in Oregon clinc-ing. They cut cedar trees for fence stays and they also cut trees to make a jumping arena. I was still pretty sick so I hung out in the truck and they worked until the moon came up each day!
We just got back from Las Vegas for The Legacy of Legends. Lots of great people and horses all together to celebrate a wondeful way of life. I got to see some of my favorite humans; Buck and Mary, we seem to go to a lot of the same places! I can tell it is Buck from a half mile away and do I ever get excited! We aren't used to sitting still that much and the ponies aren't used to being in a stall that long either, so.....Reata, Isaac, Sarah, Arc, Rolly and I explored Vegas a bit! ;)
Once I started feeling better I was getting back to my normal responsibilities; hunting, being a watch dog, sun bathing, and of course keeping Sarah happy! I wear a coat now when it is a little chilly (and two when it is flat out cold) to keep from getting pneumonia ever again! It gets a little itchy but it sure is nice to be warm on those cold winter days.
